Winter has officially begun! That means it’s time to take steps to protect your property from the dangers that come along with cold and harsh weather. This includes all the systems that make up your commercial property. Here at Palmetto Electrical Contractors, our Rock Hill, SC commercial electricians would like to offer you the following tips to keep your electrical systems—and your property in general—in good shape this season.
Get your repairs done now. Fortunately, our winters are relatively mild here in the Charlotte, NC area. The weather seems to stay warmer for longer at the beginning of the season. Take advantage of this and complete any electrical repairs that you may have been putting off.
Think about generators. Depending on your line of work, generators may be the key to maintaining your productivity year-round. We often run into ice storms that can take out the power for extended periods of time. A generator will help you keep your commercial or industrial facility running regardless of what’s going on outside.
Check for space heaters. Do your employees use space heaters to stay warm throughout the winter? If so, make sure they meet any necessary safety requirements and that they haven’t been recalled by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
